Shinnyo Lantern Floating 3.1

Every year, Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i attracts thousands of participants who come together to remember and honor their loved ones while being inspired to take positive action. The annual event emphasizes connection through shared experiences, whether attendees reside in Hawai'i or participate from across the globe. This year, we have developed an app that allows users to engage with Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i directly from their personal devices.

By downloading the app, users can:

• Participate: Reserve a spot for the Many Rivers, One Ocean - Interactive Experience, taking place from May 21 to June 5, 2021, as well as a Shinnyo Guided Meditation session on June 5, 2021, at Shinnyo-en Hawaii.

Many Rivers, One Ocean - Interactive Experience: This year's event features an interactive art installation where participants can write messages of remembrance, prayers, and commitments to positive action. These messages will be placed within the installation, allowing individuals to express their aspirations and sentiments.

Shinnyo Guided Meditation - Kindling Your Inner Light: On June 5th, 2021, three guided meditation sessions will be offered at Shinnyo-en Hawaii. Open to all individuals regardless of experience level, these sessions aim to foster inner peace and connection.

• Submit a Message or Image: Reflect on who you are inspired to remember and how you are motivated to respond. Submissions can be made until June 4, 2021. While not displayed publicly, these messages will be included in the interactive experience at Shinnyo-en Hawaii during the event period.
• Inspirations: The app offers new prompts for reflection with each visit, promoting a sense of centeredness and connection with oneself and the world.
• Connect: Celebrating its 23rd year in 2021, Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i typically brings together thousands at Ala Moana Beach for lantern dedications. Although in-person gatherings may not occur this year, the app serves as a virtual platform for participants to share their experiences and reflections from past and present events.

Participants in this year's in-person experiences are encouraged to share comments and images with the community. Her Holiness Shinso Ito reminds us, "Each of us is a shinnyo light. If one person can make a difference, imagine what would happen when we all come together."
